The Aussie Rules organization made a blunder – they yanked an anti-wagering push from their webpage and online platforms. Imagine that! All because it didn’t agree with their gaming associate, Sportsbet.
The initiative, “Adore the sport, not the chances,” was actually financed by the Victorian Foundation for Responsible Gaming (VRGF) and showcased players from the AFL. It’s currently still airing on television and radio in Victoria.
The AFL conceded they flubbed by eliminating the campaign. They stated it was an error and that they’re continuing to collaborate with the VRGF to advocate for responsible gaming.
However, it deteriorates – ESPN also dropped the campaign. This has the VRGF quite distressed, particularly since numerous AFL enthusiasts are apprehensive about youngsters being exposed to excessive gambling promotions.
A group of ten Victorian Australian Rules Football teams are taking a stance against sponsorship deals from gambling companies. They recognize the detrimental effects of wagering and are declining to participate.
The clubs expressed disappointment when the AFL and ESPN ended their “Love the game, not the odds” initiative but acknowledge it was an unintentional error. They are grateful for the AFL’s pledge to reinstate the campaign.
