The Canberra Gaming Establishment has rebounded significantly from the COVID-19 outbreak and will no longer need financial aid from the government.
Aquis Entertainment, the proprietor and manager, declared that the casino’s robust results in the last quarter of 2020 indicated it no longer satisfied the prerequisites for the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) administration’s JobKeeper initiative. Previously, the casino had utilized the second stage of the federal government’s JobKeeper plan, which spanned from September 28, 2020, to January 3, 2021.
The firm indicated that its business operations have returned to pre-pandemic levels due to positive trading outcomes. In an announcement, the company stated, “After an evaluation of operational circumstances and employer eligibility stipulations, Canberra Casino does not meet the requirements for JobKeeper 3.0 and will discontinue claiming JobKeeper as of January 4, 2021.”
By December 2020, the entire workforce had resumed full-time employment.
Aquis also communicated that the casino will maintain operations under its COVID-19 Safety Plan, which undergoes daily revisions, adhering to ACT government mandates.
Presently, the Canberra Casino is functioning with a one individual per four square meter regulation, permitting a maximum occupancy of 505 customers.
