The Dutch gaming authority, Kansspelautoriteit (KSA), has issued a stop order to Winning Poker Network for providing online gambling without authorization, breaching Dutch regulations.
The KSA initially examined Winning Poker Network last September, discovering that the operator had been unlawfully offering gambling games. After being contacted by the regulatory body, Winning Poker Network declared it would cease these activities. However, following further inspections by the KSA, while the original Winning Poker Network website was no longer accessible from the Netherlands, Dutch players could still establish accounts on another website operated by the operator. Consequently, the KSA stated that Dutch consumers could utilize these accounts to illegally engage in gambling games with Winning Poker Network. As the provision of illicit gambling games had not been entirely halted, the regulatory body decided that a stop order was issued, accompanied by a recurring fine. If the violations persist, Winning Poker Network will be obligated to pay €25,000 (£21,954/$26,914) each week, up to a maximum of €75,000, for the unlawful gambling games it offers each week.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has declared that they will continue to monitor businesses to ensure compliance with regulations.
